A Character Design Studio
Shawnimals was a designer toy studio that specialized in character-branded toys. For over 5 years I was responsible for design, print, and marketing content. The projects ranged from illustration, to packaging and toy tags, to toy design, to company branding.
I refined the iconic style of the 400+ characters while working on multiple product lines to expand the universe through mobile games, toy subscriptions, and online content.
The Chronicles of Professor Fliggins
Professorisland.com launched in 2009, was a toy subscription and yearlong story that followed the bumbling antics of Professor Fliggins as he adventured across the world of Shawnimals.
Working with a talented writer, Robbie Q. Telfer, we used a blog format as way to entertain fans and subscribers with weekly postings and toy launches. Each month a new limited edition toy was “discovered” by Fliggins and sold online.
Using a polaroid format of illustration, I created a window into the vast world as the story unfolded over the blog. I had a blast creating artifacts and other content to visually tell the story.

Shawnimaland is filled with quirky characters and strange worlds. Ranging from a kingdom of hotdogs to a town of cute Wee Ninjas. I refined the iconic style of the 400+ characters along with creating numerous visual graphics.
